A MAN who raped a 15-year-old girl in the sea off Bournemouth Beach in a ‘brazen’ act in broad daylight has been jailed for six and a half years.
Gabriel Marinoaica, of Darlaston, Walsall, West Midlands, was found guilty of three charges of sexual assault and another charge of rape in March and was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court today, April 19.
Marinoaica, now 20, dragged his victim out to sea off the beach on July 18, 2021 before touching her ‘everywhere’.
He then asked the defendant if she wanted to ‘smash’, meaning to have sex, to which the victim said no.
He then raped her for about a minute, placing his hand over her mouth meaning she could not scream for help.
Marinoaica was arrested 11 months later after semen found in the girl’s bikini matched his DNA.
He was sentenced to six and a half years in a young offenders Institute by Judge Susan Evans KC, and will serve two thirds of the sentence in custody, before being released on licence.
Marinoaica was placed on the sexual offenders register for life and was given a sexual harm prevention order for 20 years.
