A ROAD was closed after emergency services responded to a crash.

The A35 Upton bypass, near the Bakers Arms roundabout, was closed last night, Wednesday, May 1, following a crash.

The police, fire service, ambulance service and the highways service all attended the scene.

No serious injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At 7.40pm on Wednesday 1 May 2024, Dorset Police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A35 in Poole close to the Baker’s Arms roundabout.

“Officers attended the incident with the fire, ambulance and highways services.

“The road was temporarily closed.

“No serious injuries were reported. The road was reopened at around 10.15pm.”

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 7:46pm yesterday with reports of a road traffic collision on the A35 Upton bypass.

“Two fire engines from Poole were mobilised to the incident and on arrival found one car involved.

“The driver of the vehicle had self-extricated prior to the arrival of the fire service and crews worked to make the scene safe and administered casualty care until the ambulance service had arrived.

“The stop was in at 8:05pm.”
