A second crash on the A35 caused traffic chaos near Dorchester this morning.

Following an early morning crash on Friday, May 10, at the Stinsford Roundabout, a second crash took place near to Stinsford Farm at 10.44am - causing minor damage to a vehicle.

The crash happened just as the A35 was being cleared and reopened. There were no injuries reported in either crash.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision at 10.44am near Stinsford Farm.

"No injuries were reported and minor damage only." 

The first crash involved three cars and forced the A35 southbound carriage way to be closed for around two and a half hours as emergency services cleared the road.

The area affected was from the Troy Town turn off to the the Stadium Roundabout after the collision happened near to the Stinsford Roundabout and one motorist had described the traffic to be at a standstill at around 9.30am.

There were no reports of injuries and the road reopened at 10.50am.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "A three-vehicle road traffic collision was reported at 8.20am on Friday, May 10 on the A35 Stinsford heading towards Dorchester.

"The road is currently blocked and there are no reports of any injuries."
