A man was injured in a motorbike and car crash on the Coast Road to Bridport.

As previously reported, Dorset Police closed a section of the Coast Road from Freshwater Holiday Park to the Crown Roundabout yesterday afternoon. 

A subsequent statement from police has confirmed the road closure was due to a crash involving a car and a motorbike outside Marsh Barn Farm on the B3157 near Bridport.

Officers were at the scene along with the ambulance service.

The motorcyclist was rushed to Dorset County Hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. 

The vehicles were recovered and the road was reopened at around 4.30pm. 

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "We were called at 2.32pm on Sunday, May 12 2024 to a report of a collision involving a car and a motorbike outside Marsh Barn Farm on the B3157 near Bridport.

"Officers attended with the ambulance service.

"The motorcyclist sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Recovery was requested for the vehicles and road reopened at around 4.30pm."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 2.29pm on Sunday, May 12 to a road traffic incident in Bridport.

"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Dorset County Hospital."
