A MOTORCYCLIST has sustained life-changing injuries after a crash with a car.

The rider, a man in his 50s and from Poole, was on the A351 Wareham Bypass near to the junction with the A352 Worgret Road, on Sunday afternoon.

He was involved in a crash on the bypass with a grey Ford C-Max at around 4.50pm on May 12.

The rider of the black Triumph motorcycle was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries that police are describing as life changing.

The Ford driver sustained minor injuries.

Dorset Echo:

Meanwhile, a road closure was put in place along the bypass while emergency services workers carried out an examination of the scene.

Drivers were diverted through Wareham, bringing much of the town centre to a standstill.

Eventually, the road closure was lifted at around 7.30pm.

Police sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the traffic unit, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and am keen to speak to any witnesses who were in the area.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
