There were delays to traffic along a major route out of Weymouth on Wednesday after two cars crashed.

Traffic was backing up along the A354 Weymouth Way on the approach to the Manor roundabout near to Dorchester Road and the Morrisons supermarket.

The road was blocked on the northbound carriageway as Dorset Police responded to the incident.

No injuries were reported and the vehicles were recovered by around 7pm.

Motorists on their way home from work had to deal with delays of around eight minutes and motorists were advised to find alternative routes.

One driver on their way home from work said: "There was a two car crash just before Morrisons with about an eight minute delay going out of Weymouth.

"There is a police van and a normal police car but there was no ambulance or fire service when I went past."

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At 5.13pm on Wednesday May 15 2024, we received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A354 Weymouth Way near the Manor roundabout.

"The road was partially blocked. No injuries were reported. The vehicles were recovered at around 7pm."
