A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting two people on a bus in Weymouth. 

At around 9.30pm on Wednesday, May 15 on a First Bus, the man assaulted a woman who was known to him before also assaulting the bus driver. 

Neither victim is believed to have suffered any serious injuries.

The assault occurred opposite the Tesco store on Portland Road in Wyke Regis. 

Officers attended and a Weymouth man aged in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.

Police are looking to speak to witnesses after two people were assaulted on a bus in Weymouth. 

Police Constable Antony Frost, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to speak to any other passengers who were on the bus at the time. I would urge them to please get in touch so we can take their account of what they saw.

“I understand there may have been further witnesses who saw what happened as the man and woman involved left the bus in the area of Tesco on Portland Road and I would urge anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please come forward.”
