A broken-down car on the A31 in Winterborne Tomson is causing delays to traffic.
The A31 is partially blocked heading eastbound, with traffic moving slowly before Marsh Lane.
Drivers are advised to find alternative routes for their journeys.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 4.11pm to a report of a broken down vehicle on the A31 near to the red post turning. Officers are in attendance."
