A COFFEE morning has raised more than £500 for Wimborne in Bloom.

Hosted at the home of Anthony and Christine Oliver, the morning saw ‘good attendance’ and a ‘brisk trade’ on the bring and buy stall and plants for sale table.

More than £150 was raised in the raffle, with the total money raised going towards this year’s In Bloom campaign.

Wimborne town mayor, councillor Diann March, was in attendance as one of her last engagements of the mayoral year, drawing the raffle.

The next event in the calendar for Wimborne in Bloom is the annual meeting on Monday, June 3 in the town hall.

Then, the second Wimborne in Bloom Open Gardens Day this year will be held on Sunday, June 30 with 20 gardens across the town open through the day.

Summer planting in the town will take place in June, too, with more than 100 hanging baskets erected.
