WEYMOUTH have confirmed the retention of Josh McQuoid for the 2024/25 Vanarama National League South season.
Former Bournemouth forward McQuoid, 34, missed most of the previous campaign after undergoing treatment for a sarcoma in his leg.
The Northern Ireland international started the season before his treatment began and went on to play seven times, returning for a substitute appearance in the final game against Farnborough.
However, McQuoid used his time away from the pitch to good effect, helping out with training sessions while he worked his way back to match fitness.

He was also named interim assistant manager under Jason Matthews’ wing for two matches after Bobby Wilkinson’s exit.
In a club statement, Weymouth said: “Josh has become a pivotal part of the club and surrounding community, establishing himself as a firm fan favourite during his 120 appearances so far.
“In that time, Josh has managed to find the back of the net 28 times during four seasons with a healthy addition of 13 assists to add to that. Seeing him part of two promotion sides in claret and blue.
“The Northern Ireland international will continue on at the Bob Lucas for the forthcoming season, and we look forward to seeing him back on the pitch more consistently after a sustained period out of action last season due to injury.”
McQuoid will likely continue to hone his coaching skills under new boss Mark Molesley, who brought the ex-Burnley, Coventry and Millwall forward to the club in 2018.
McQuoid has shown his versatility in recent years, operating in central midfield or in a more advanced midfield role as well as up front.
He joins Keelan O’Connell, Tom Bearwish and Charlie Rowan in committing to Weymouth for the new season.
