THE Government has taken a ‘massive step forward’ in the war on domestic abuse after announcing new punishments for perpetrators of psychological abuse. That is the view of Dorset-based specialist domestic abuse advisor Jo Keane after Home Secretary Theresa May introduced a new criminal offence of ‘coercive and controlling’ behaviour within domestic relationships.
