A LARGER than life tale is set to enchant youngsters at a west Dorset story cafe.
Lisa Schneidau and Ronnie Conboy are Devon-based storytellers and will return to the Bridport Story Cafe at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday January 20 with Giants, a storytelling journey through some of the old myths, exploring the relationship between the great rock-builders and the human beings who came after.
Imagine that a long, long time ago the ice melted and the water rose, leaving an island where there once was a plain. There were giants on the earth in those days, wading, swimming, sailing from the four corners of the world to build themselves a home on this new land. What can the old stories tell us about our own relationship with the land, as the waters prepare to rise again in the present day?
*Giants is at 7.30pm, Bridport Story Cafe, Bridport Arts Centre on Friday January 20. The evening is suitable for adults and older children.
Tickets are £8 (£5 concessions) available on the night and in advance from Bridport Arts Centre box office.
