FIVE nurses are jumping from 15,000ft to raise money for Julia’s House.
District nurses from the Royal Crescent Surgery in Weymouth are skydiving tomorrow to raise money for the children’s charity.
Lorraine Burridge is doing the jump along with fellow nurses Emma Brunt, Stuart Davies Mandie Dodwell and Tracey Edwards. She said: “We wanted to do something for charity and decided to raise money for Julia’s House and someone suggested doing a skydive.
“I’m actually quite scared of heights though, I can’t even stand on a chair without my legs shaking!”
Mandie has already done a skydive before.
She said: “I am excited for the dive but then also not excited when I remember some parts of what happens during the dive!”
“But it is an amazing experience and I’m happy to do it for Julia’s House.”
The group will each be doing a tandem skydive and have collectively fundraised in the region of £1,000.
Each member of the team will experience a one-minute free fall during the dive, which they are doing at Dunkeswell Airfield in Devon.
Lorraine added: “Every penny counts so we would really appreciate any donations for such a worthwhile cause.”
