MOTORISTS faced long traffic delays in Dorchester after a two car collision and a car parked on Monkey's Jump roundabout resulted in long tailbacks for drivers.

The A354 Weymouth Relief Road in Dorchester was closed after two vans collided with each other this afternoon.

The incident happened shortly before 1pm near the Football Ground Roundabout on the northbound carriageway, when the two vehicles, a blue Volkswagen van registered to a company from Trowbridge and a blue Golf estate registered to a company from Bromsgrove, collided with each other.

Following the crash, the road was closed for nearly an hour as the vehicles were recovered. Nobody was injured in the crash.

Adding to the tailbacks, Dorset Police also received a call to a vehicle that was “improperly parked” on the Monkey's Jump roundabout. It took police 30 minutes to move the vehicle, adding to the traffic delays.
