WEYMOUTH skipper Kieron Womble will welcome back three experienced heads into the Seasiders’ dressing room for their first home game of the campaign against Broadstone tomorrow (1pm).

Seasoned trio David Trotter, former captain Dean Janaway and Michael Pearce come back into Womble’s squad for the clash, in which the Seasiders suffered a 76-run defeat last term.

The captain told Echosport: “We have a few more experienced players back this week to blend in with the lads from last week and we will keep working hard with the right attitude.

“All three of them have played for a number of years and hopefully they can come in and add some experience.

“They know the league well and they know what to expect in these sorts of games so it will be a big boost.”

Broadstone claimed fourth spot in the Premier Division last season, and while Womble is wary of the threat the visitors pose, he is relishing the prospect of kicking off his side’s home fixtures at Redlands with a win.

He added: “They are a very good team with some very handy players, we have always had good close games against them and hopefully we can come out on top.

“We know Redlands plays well, we just have to see what the weather does to the pitch and the conditions but we are looking forward to the first home game of the season and hopefully we can turn up and put in a good performance.

“We dug in really well last week and to bat the bulk of our overs was a testament to people not giving their wickets away, but we all know we need to kick on this weekend.”
