PORTLAND Town Under-15s held their awards presentation in the gardens of the Clifton Hotel, with team manager Paul Barber handing out the trophies on a glorious evening on the island.
Last season was only the second together for the players but it was another successful campaign.
They finished fourth in Division Three of the Dorset League, just one win away from collecting the title.
Barber presented all 14 players with squad trophies and gave out the six main awards to the following; Most Improved Player: Ryan Luckhurst
Captain’s Player: Oliver Carter
Top Scorer: Harrison McCune
Most Committed Player: Jake Costello
Players’ Player: Luke Barber
Manager’s Player: Drew Talbot
“All but two players turned up and I would like to thank all the parents who came to see their boys receive well-deserved trophies after what was a fantastic team effort all season,” said Barber.
“And thank you to all the players who were immaculate and well-behaved young men.
“I am so proud of our small squad and we hope to go that one step further next season and win the league.”
Barber also thanked Fi and Mig for their hospitality after they laid on food for all 14 players.
