THE Osprey National Championships took place at Porthpean in Cornwall.
There were 39 boats competing in a variety of conditions in the Bay of St Austell.
Three local boats owned by Kevin Francis and Phil Male from Castle Cove Sailing Club, Terry Curtis and Nick Frampton from Weymouth Sailing Club and Tim Bowden (WSC) in the Veteran boat Able To, competed in the event.
Curtis and Frampton took advantage of the very shifty conditions, which ranged from long postponements due to no wind to gusts of 18 knots, and finished a respectable fifth place.
Close behind were Francis and Male who finished 10th and Tim Bowden in Able To, achieving 22nd.
Porthpean Sailing Club hosted a fantastic event with the steep slipway providing a challenge for all despite the assistance of the tractor.
The 2015 championships are planned to be held at Highcliffe Sailing Club, Bournemouth.
