WEYMOUTH schoolgirl Orla Adams won a bronze medal at the recent World Age Group Competition.

The competition attracts the best age group juniors from around the world to compete in Trampoline, Double-Mini Trampoline and Tumbling.

Adams, who competed in the 13-14 girls double-mini trampoline event, was amongst 35 finalists who made this Great Britain’s most successful age group competition in 15 years.

Adams is a member of the successful OLGA Gymnastics & Trampoline Club based in Poole and trains 15 hours a week over five days for the double-mini and trampoline.

Teammate Isabelle Songhurst also found success at the competition, having won the 15-16 trampoline event. Meanwhile, her sister, Maddie Songhurst, won a silver medal in the 11-12 synchronised trampoline event.

Dorchester’s Kirsty Way finished in sixth place in the 15-16 girls’ double-mini trampoline competition, whilst Oliver Simonot matched Way’s sixth place in the 11-12 boys’ trampoline event.

Isobel Leigh-Warren was the final competitor from OLGA. The 14-year-old finished in 19th place overall in the 13-14 trampoline competition which secured 21 medals over all three disciplines for Britain’s youngsters.
