PETER BENTLEY

Passed away suddenly on February 25th 2003 at the age of 53 years.

Beloved husband of and best friend to Joyce, loving son of Kathleen and the late Frederick. Special and close brother of Stephen and his wife Catherine, Anne and husband Tony and brother-in-law to Barbara and husband Kelly. Dearly loved and proud uncle to Shona, Katrina, Emma, Laurence, Daniel, George, Maria and Marcus and a very special "Uncle Peter" to the children of his many friends throughout the United Kingdom and Canada who all became part of Peter's family. A very loved nephew of Auntie Hilda, Uncle Richard and the late Auntie Molly and a loved cousin of Joan, Keith and Michael and Robert in the United States.

Peter emigrated with Joyce to Canada in 1978, where he enjoyed a successful career as an executive chef, particularly at the Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto. He left Huyton Hey School at 16 years and initially trained as a chef in Liverpool before working in 5 star hotels in Teesside, Edinburgh, Devon and Bournemouth before emigrating.

Peter was the life and soul of any social gathering and his family and friends all over the world will sadly miss him.

A Memorial Service was held in Toronto on March 5th 2003 and a further service and celebration of his life is to take place at St. Martin's Church, Broadmayne, Dorchester, Dorset at 2.00pm on Sunday March 23rd 2003. No flowers please. Any donations may be made to the British Heart Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
