Freda Cowie

COWIE Freda Colin and Di Smith would like to express our deepest thanks to all those who came to say farewell to Freda. She would have approved! To Daphne and Freda's family who travelled down from Reading to say their goodbyes. The Reverend David Morgan of the United Reform Church, Radipole for creating the perfect Service. Also David's colleagues at the U.R.C. who provided the music that Freda had chosen....and Ian, a church elder, who became a close and supportive friend to Freda. The staff of Weymouth Nursing Home, who took such good care of her. Her close friends Mary, Sylvia and all those who came to her send off and donated to her favourite good cause, The Firefighter's Charity. Freda was a despatcher in the London Fire Brigade during the blitz. The Spa Hotel who provided the reserved area and refreshments. And finally, to Jane Cotton and all her caring staff at Cotton & Son. Freda was cremated in accordance with her wishes. Being a competant "first mate" to Harold on their "8 tonner" sailing boat, her ashes will be scattered in Portland Harbour, where they would be seen from Harold's memorial bench at the Nothe. As Freda would say....."God Bless."
