Notice of Making a Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order Highways Act 1980 Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Dorset County Council (Parts of Footpaths 7 and 8, Abbotsbury at East Elworth) Public Path Diversion Order 2017

The above order, made on 13 October 2017 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert the public Footpaths at East Elworth, Abbotsbury in the West Dorset District, as shown on the order map as follows:-
From the existing paths: Part of Footpath 7, Abbotsbury: From the unaffected part of Footpath 7, at the farm track west of East Elworth Farmhouse and Cottages at SY 60048467, east south east through a field and passing to the south of East Elworth Farmhouse, then north east, crossing into a garden area to its junction with the current route of Footpath 8, east of East Elworth Farmhouse at SY 60218465. (No recorded width). Part of Footpath 8, Abbotsbury: From the unaffected part of Footpath 8, east south east of East Elworth Farmhouse at SY 60248464, west north west to its junction with the current route of Footpath 7, east of East Elworth Farmhouse at SY 60218465, then north north west, passing
through private gardens to its junction with Footpath 35, Portesham at the Portesham
parish boundary at SY 60188477. (No recorded width).
To the new paths:
Part of Footpath 7, Abbotsbury: From the unaffected part of Footpath 7, at the farm track west of East Elworth Farmhouse and Cottages at SY 60048467, east along the track to SY 60118466 then turn north east, passing to the north west of East Elworth Farmhouse to SY 60168470. Continue east south east along the track to SY 60188470 then east across a yard, to its junction with the proposed new route of Footpath 8, north east of East Elworth Farmhouse at SY 60218469. The width of this part of Footpath 7 is 2 metres. Part of Footpath 8, Abbotsbury: From the unaffected part of Footpath 8, east south east of East Elworth Farmhouse at SY 60248464, north east and then immediately north west to SY 60248465, continue north, along the eastern side of a fence, passing to the east of East Elworth Cottages to SY 60248468 and then west north west along the fence line to its junction with the proposed new route of Footpath 7, north east of East Elworth Farmhouse at SY 60218469. Continue north, (via SY 60218472), crossing into a field at SY 60218472 and turning west into a second field at SY 60208477. Continue west and north west across the field to its junction with Footpath 35, Portesham at the Portesham parish boundary at SY 60188477. The width of this part of Footpath 8 is 2 metres, except for 1 metre at SY 60218469, 1.8 metres at SY 60218472, 1.4 metres at SY 60218472 and 1 metre at SY 60208477. Limitations: Gaps at SY 60218469 and SY 60218472, field gate at SY 60218472 and pedestrian gate at SY 60208477 all to BS5709:2006.

A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal office hours. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £10.00. Copies are also available on our website at www.dorsetforyou.gov.uk/row-orders. Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to Vanessa Penny, Regulation Team Leader, Dorset Highways, Environment and the Economy Directorate, Dorset County Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ (Ref: RW/P131) not later than 19 January 2018. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Any letters received will be made available for public inspection.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset County Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
