A NEW panel dedicated to business issues is to be set up by Dorset County Council.
The move was agreed at a meeting held in Dorchester between the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and council chiefs.
The council representatives include council leader Angus Campbell and chief executive David Jenkins.
Once set up, the business and consultative panel will be run along the lines of local citizens’ panels.
Representatives of a range of business groups will be invited to take part.
As well as the FSB, other groups such as the National Farmers’ Union and Dorset chamber of trade will be invited to participate.
The FSB’s Dorset County chairman and chairman of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch branch David Ramsden said: “We are extremely pleased that the county council has looked at this suggestion and been so positive.
“We now look forward to being part of this panel and providing small business input.
“This is an excellent example of how a FSB initiative bears fruit.”
