JUDGES have picked the finalists for the 2010 Open4Business Awards contest.

The 11-strong panel drew up the nominees for the titles when they were locked away at the Enterprise Connection on the Granby Industrial Estate.

Now finalists will have to wait until the awards dinner at Weymouth College on Thursday, October 7.

Judge Keir Francis, of the Dorchester-based Insitement web design company, said: “It was my first time as a judge for Open4Business.

“It was an interesting experience and the standard of entries gave us a hard job.”

Dorchester Chamber of Commerce president Denise Addison added: “We had quite a few entries to look at and it went extremely well.”

Mr Francis was among the 10- strong panel of judges for the Weymouth College-sponsored awards.

They included Greg Mudge from DJ Property, Andrew Dyke from the Pineapple Group, Barry White from Humphries-Kirk, Dorchester chamber president Denise Addison, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council licensing manager Sue Moore, Business Link director Steve Webster, Dorset Echo editor Toby Granville, Keir Francis from Insitement, Dorset County Council economic development officer Robert Firth, Weymouth College deputy principle Paul Lonsdale and Jude Sargent from the Dorset New Forest Partnership.
