Entertainment on offer at spa centre

THE curtain is rising on entertainment at the Portland Spa Conference and Banqueting Centre.
The £10 million complex is booking a series of acts for its restaurant, theatre, lounge bar and suites in its conference facilities.
Directors aim to establish a venue to compete with the BIC in Bournemouth, Lighthouse in Poole, Pavilions in Plymouth and Octagon in Yeovil.
The aim is to provide entertainment which is not generally available in the immediate area, such as cabaret-style dinners with music or fashion shows, comedians and productions.
It already has a jazz trio on Thursday nights and a pianist in its restaurant on Friday nights.
Spa managing director Andrew Coupe said: "We want to offer a broad range and style of entertainment which is more discerning and different to what you would see nearby.
"It is not necessarily highbrow but there will be a whole range of different entertainment for different people."
Frank Sinatra tribute Anthony Adams is returning to perform at the Portland Spa Conference and Banqueting Centre on May 3.
His first date at the complex on April 26 sold out.
Mr Adams, from Poole, came second on the TV show The One and Only. Ed Hintze from Weymouth also appeared on the show, as Elton John.
Mr Adams will perform a medley of the singer's top hits, accompanied by a seven-piece band, in the complex's Sherborne suite.
The evening starts at 6.45pm with drinks in the Cove Lounge.
At 7.30pm a three-course gala dinner will be served in the Sherborne Suite.
After dinner Mr Adams, as Frank Sinatra, will perform classic songs.
The ticket price is £39.50 including entertainment and dinner.
