Glittering future for jewellery designer at spa
THE Portland Spa is selling jewellery from designer Lisa Sanders.
She has chosen the spa's therapy suite to sell items from her Gioia collection - including silver pieces, crystals and pearls.
Julia Marston, who is general manager for leisure at The Portland Spa, said: "As soon as I saw Gioia Jewellery I knew it was right for The Portland Spa.
"The designs are absolutely stunning - both classic and eye-catching at the same time.
"We are delighted to be exclusive stockists of Gioia in South Dorset."
Ms Sanders established Gioia jewellery more than nine years ago.
She designs and crafts it by hand in Winchester. Ms Sanders said: "I love what I do and I'm delighted to have secured such a fabulous outlet for my designs in south Dorset. We are determined to retain our exclusivity and have a policy of carefully selecting our stockists.
"The Portland Spa joins our list of hand-picked retailers which includes selected John Lewis stores. Selfridges in London has also featured Gioia. I have also been inspired by my visits to the spa and plan to create bespoke pieces incorporating Portland Stone."
Ms Sanders is also keen to stage events at The Portland Spa Conference and Banqueting Centre.
These may include workshops devoted to the art of jewellery design. The sessions are developed for individuals or groups to give them the skills to turn their designs into actual pieces they can wear themselves or use as gifts for family members, loved ones and others.
