A DORSET pub chain is backing a vital county-wide charity this Christmas.

Brewhouse and Kitchen is working to support Julia’s House over the Christmas period to raise funds and awareness of the charity.

Southbourne, Poole, Bournemouth and Dorchester Brewhouse and Kitchen pubs have kick-started December with several festive fundraising events, with a host more still to come.

Earlier this month, the Brewhouse and Kitchen pubs in Dorchester, Poole and Southbourne, hosted their own Christmas quiz nights, with all proceeds from the events to be donated to the charity.

Brewhouse and Kitchen have also hosted families from Julia’s House to celebrate Christmas with them in their Dorchester and Southbourne pubs where they were treated to a complimentary festive feast.

Next on their fundraising agenda, on Sunday, December 17, families will have the chance to meet Father Christmas at their local Brewhouse and Kitchen from 11am.

The meet and greet will feature carol singers whilst children under 12 of families who book in for lunch will receive gifts and complimentary Sunday roasts all day too, while staff will be fundraising for the charity as well.

Finally, those who pride themselves on their outrageous Christmas jumper collection and want to support the charity are invited on Friday, December 15 for a Xmas Jumper Day Party.

The worst jumper will be awarded a mini keg of beer.

Collection tins will be placed in all the pubs whilst there will also be a selection of mini fundraising activities on the day.

John Gleeson, operations manager at Brewhouse & Kitchen Group, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting these fun events for our customers while helping an amazing charity that needs our support. This is the time of year when many companies look to give back to their community, however, this is not just for Christmas. It is the start of a relationship with Julia’s House which we are looking to continue into 2018 and beyond through fundraising and support.”

Laura Kelly, community fundraising manager at Julia’s House, added: “This is an amazing initiative from Brewhouse and Kitchen and we are so thankful they thought of us. The funds raised will help us deliver comfort and care to families across Dorset and Wiltshire.”
