DALLAGLIO Cycle Slam – Cycling for Help the Heroes and Sports Relief

Duncan Matthews a retired Royal Navy Officer from the village is to cycle from Nice to Paris in February.

The ride has been organised by Lawrence Dallaglio who is cycling from Rome to Edinburgh to coincide with the 2010 Six Nations Rugby championships.

50 cyclists will be joining Lawrence for each of the six legs of the journey, which will be via each of the six nations stadia.

Duncan can often be seen out on his bike in all weathers and will be cycling 450 miles in 5 days through France. No mean feat.

He reports that he has had excellent advice from Mud, Sweat and Gears on the Granby Estate in Weymouth.

You can find out more about Duncan’s epic trip on www.justgiving.com/Duncan-Matthews and sponsor him too.

They have presented a Blue Tit box to St Nicholas Church for the Living Churchyard Project.

It is beautifully made and will be put in place by my husband soon.
