FOR the last few years I have been covering the village news for Langton Herring to help out the correspondent during a time of crisis.

I have now happily passed it back into the capable hands of Langton Herring resident Margaret Connelly.

THE Abbotsbury and Portesham Diamond club’s next Bingo session takes place on Friday, November 12 in Strangways Hall, Abbotsbury.

Doors open at 7.00pm for eyes down at 7.30pm.

The Diamond Club’s next outing is Christmas shopping at Cribb’s Causeway, Bristol on Tuesday, November 16.

The coach will pick up from Portesham at 10.30am and Abbotsbury at 10.40am Non-members are welcome and the cost will be £8.

KEITH Whittock’s Sudan cards are now on sale until Christmas

There is a display of the designs of these highly original and colourful cards in each of the benefice churches.

The cards depict scenes of Abbotsbury, Portesham. Langton Herring, Corton Chapel, West Bay and other local scenes along the coast and beyond Profits raised from the sale of these cards go to the Salisbury Diocesan Sudan Fund that provides vital medical and educational resources for a country ravaged by civil wars and natural disasters.

Last year the cards raised £1400 for the fund.

STRANGWAYS Hall committee are holding the first of this months carpet bowls evenings on Thursday, November 11 at 7.30pm.

Everyone is invited.
