• Many of you will remember previous visits of the Dorset Corset Theatre Company, which will be returning to Broadmayne Village Hall on Saturday, October 11 at 7.30pm, with their new adaptation of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey.

This exciting young company will bring their own unique style of live music and performance to Catherine Morland's struggle to separate fantasy and reality when she falls for the witty Henry Tilney, whose family invite her to the dark and sinister Northanger Abbey.

Six multi-talented actors, inventive choreography and finely judged comedy are sure to make a delightful evening out for Jane Austen fans.

  • On Tuesday, October 21 between 10 and 11.30am in Broadmayne Village Hall, the Cowleaze Luncheon Club will be holding a coffee morning to raise funds for their very popular annual Christmas lunch for the elderly residents of Broadmayne.

Various stalls will include books, cakes, plants, produce and much more, not to mention a raffle.

  • Magical Mayhem will also be returning to Broadmayne Village Hall on Saturday, October 25, when they present Spooktacular.

This show, for all the family, will include magic and illusion, a female vocalist, dancers called Glitz and the opportunity to see whether the magician will escape from 'The Cabinet of Spikes'.

For a fun element, fancy dress is optional, but there will be a prize for the best costume.

Refreshments will be available, together with a raffle.

The show starts at 7.30pm, doors open at 7pm and tickets can be obtained from the Corner House Stores at £5, children and senior citizens £3.
