Christopher Adams, who lived in Broadmead, Broadmayne during his childhood and beyond, has been honoured by Her Majesty the Queen for his work.

PC Adams has been the neighbourhood beat manager for St Paul’s, Bristol, since 1991 and is the longest serving city beat manager in the constabulary.

During this time he has demonstrated exceptional commitment, strengthening relationships with the community and being relentless towards criminals.

He has brought nearly 2000 offenders to justice, making the area a safer place to live and work.

His dedication and approachable nature has helped him to build a tremendous rapport with the community.

The Queen’s Police Medal is awarded to police officers in the UK and Commonwealth for gallantry or distinguished service.

Chief Constable Colin Port said “Chris is very well respected as someone who cares about issues that concern our community and is an excellent police officer who spends as much time as he can out and about serving our communities and hunting down criminals.”

PC Adams said “Policing is a team effort and if I have achieved anything, it has been because of the support of my colleagues.

I am pleased to be honoured for a job that I enjoy as it has been my pleasure to work with such a vibrant community as St Paul’s.”
