BUCKLAND NEWTON GAGGLE of Geese: It is with great regret that Mark and Emily are having to announce that they have to sell this popular village pub.

Due to events beyond their control they are now planning to move on whilst hopefully staying in the area they have come to love.

I am sure you will be joining them in whishing them all the very best for their future endeavours whilst thanking them for all they have given to the community.

BIRD Survey Walks: The Butterfly Conservation would like to let everyone know that they are holding a number of bird survey walks and nestbox checks on Alners Gorse Reserve during the coming months.

CERNE ABBAS HORTICULTURAL Society: The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 20 in the Village Hall.

It will take the form of a Propagation Workshop and contain lots of practical demonstrations.

Neil Lovesey of Picket Lane Nursery will cover propagation of bulbs, corms, tubers, root and top cuttings.

Do bring something you would like to propagate and Neil will be happy to show you.

The evening starts at 7:30pm, if you are not a member now is the ideal time to join as the annual subscription of £ 6 is now due.

MOVIOLA: The next film will be shown on Monday, March 19 in the Village Hall.

“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” (12A, 120 mins) is a big screen version of the TV classic.

It stars Colin Firth, John Hurt and Gary Oldman, therefore not a film to be missed!

A new community newsletter “It’s for You” is being delivered to all homes and is designed to bring everyone everyone up to date with the process as well as informing everyone how they can contribute to the discussions.

The Neighbourhood Plan will be the focal point of both forthcoming village meetings: in Godmanstone on Saturday, April 14 and Cerne Abbas on Saturday, May 19.

The project time frame is 18 months so there is plenty of time to get involved!

HILLFIELD A CONTEMPLATIVE Prayer Day is being held at Hilfield Friay on Saturday, May 19.

Booking is suggested for this event led by Lin Burton and Maggie Hooper.

It is an ideal opportunity to engage in a day of meditation and individual reflection in each other’s fellowship.

This event is also suitable if you are just “too busy” in life and looking for a way to re-focus on Christ.
