CERNE ABBAS DIAMOND Jubilee Party: On Monday, June 4 a wonderful street party takes place in the village, starting at noon.

Long Street will be closed from 11 am to allow for tables and chairs to be put up as well as setting up all the entertainment!

Don’t miss this jolly occasion, many activities are planned, including face painting and crown making!

Live entertainment has been organised from 2pm onwards and a tombola woll take place as well.

Plenty of refreshments will be available, the pubs and tearoom will be open for business as usual.

Come along and bring all the family – there is a Royal Memories Exhibition to delight in as well.

GIANT fireworks will be the order of the day – or evening rather – on Monday, June 4.

Thanks to Minterne House Events and their generosity you are invited to a giant fireworks and beacon spectacle on Bakers Down.

Tickets are £ 5 at the entrance, children go free.

The price includes fireworks, locally sourced sausages and burgers, tables and chairs and even a marquee to cater for all events!

If you are driving, you will find ample car parking off C12 opposite the Giants Head Campsite, DT2 7TR.

Those who would like to walk meet at Not the Bus Shelter in the village at 7:30pm for 8pm.

The beacon will be lit around 8:30pm, the fireworks start at approximately 9:34pm.

MORRIS Dancing: The Treacle Eater Clog, a Morris team based in Yeovil, will be performing at The Royal Oak at 8pm on Monday, June 11.

Why not come and watch their skill?

The dancers are brightly dressed, accompanied by a large band to enable them to hear the music above the din!

MUSIC Festival: The renowned Cerne Abbas Music Festival takes place once again from Thursday, June 7 – Sunday, June 10.

The Gaudier Ensemble, a group of exquisite European musicians will again delight with their chamber music repertoire in St. Mary’s Church.

Special events include a family concert on Saturday morning, June 9, performing a musical setting of three poems by Roald Dahl and a talk by the writer and broadcaster Robert Philip.

Master classes will also take place, in the Village Hall, immediately after the Saturday morning concert.

GIANT Social: Any person registered with Cerne Abbas Surgery is welcome to come along to the Giant Social – the next one being held on Friday, June 8.

This convivial gathering starts at 3pm in the Village Hall, Frank Hamblin will be speaking about his years in the Navy.

Everyone is asked for a small contribution of £ 1 in exchange for tea, coffee, cake and interesting company!

Bring a friend and bear in mind that prescriptions can be issued at The Giant Social – provided you let the surgery know two days before.

LITTER Pick: The annual village Litter Pick takes place on Tuesday, June 12.

Please meet at 7pm at Not the Bus Shelter and help keeping the village clean and tidy!

BUCKLAND NEWTON GAGGLE of Geese: The Jubilee Concert will be screened in the Gaggle of Geese on Monday, June 4.

The concert starts at 7:30pm, do come along and enjoy what the pub has to offer at the same time!

MORRIS Dancing: Having performed at The Royal Oak in Cerne Abbas beforehand (see above), The Treacle Eater Clog will be heading to The Gaggle of Geese to dance at 9pm.

ART Weeks: Dorset Art Weeks is in full swing, why not come and visit Norrie de Montigny’s Open Studio and Exhibition?

Tableware and painted wall panels in clay can be admired, everyone is welcome to browse.

Her exhibition takes place at The Old Stables, Duntish, Buckland Newton, off the B3143.

SYDLING ST. NICHOLAS "BUTTERFLIES of the Sydling St. Nicholas Valley” is the title of a guided walk taking place on Monday, June 4 between 10:30am – 2pm.

You will be able to explore the butterflies and other wildlife at Huish Farm and Sydling Brook Organic Farm.
