BUCKLAND NEWTON ORGAN concert: an exceptional opportunity to listen to one of the finest organists is waiting for you!

David Titterington, Head of Organ Studies at the Royal Academy of Music, has agreed to give a concert on Saturday, September 22 at the Holy Rood Church.

Not only that, he has also offered to perform during the Sunday Service on Sunday, September 23.

Having supervised the restoration of the church organ, this is a particularly fitting performance of the highest quality.

The concert starts at 7pm, tickets are free.

Visitors will however be able to make a donation which will be shared between the church and the charity “Combat Stress”.

David Titterington is a fine soloist who has performed at festivals all over the world so don’t miss this evening and bring your music-loving friends along as well!

BUTTERFLY Conservation: Forthcoming events include a Conservation Action Day at Alners Gorse Reserve on Sunday, September 23.

The team will continue with the woodland and scrub management work, newcomers are always welcome.

Furthermore, a Conservation Action Day takes place at Lankham Bottom Reserve on Sunday October 7.

Conservation Action Days normally last from 10am – 4pm with refreshments available.

Monday, September 24 will see the showing of “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” (12A), a comedy drama with an illustrious cast including Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy.

On Monday, October 22 “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” (12A) will be shown and on Monday, November 19 “The Artist” (PG).

Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, tickets are £ 5.
