Members of Chapelhay Community Playgarden have been busy this month planting a herb garden, which the whole community can use.

Local children have planted parsley, thyme, mint, coriander and much more.

Members also brought along salsa, salads and herby dumplings on the first Sunday of the month to show how the herbs can be used. Chair Clare Sutton said: "The idea is that if you want some parsley or mint to go with your dinner you can just pop down and help yourself.”

Another member, Shamus Herron, has emblazoned the back wall with "Chapelhay", painted in a graffitti-style.

Local Pact chairman Mark Ford said: "It looks truly outstanding, and hopefully it all helps to show that we care about this little patch of Chapelhay and so inspires others to care for it to."

The group will be holding their next Work Day on Sunday, June 4 11.30am-12.30pm.

Everyone is welcome and there will be some gardening activities for children to join in.
