Chickerell and Charlestown Townswomen’s Guild are holding a cream tea on Friday, May 7 at 2.30pm.

This will be held at Marshallsay Court and is being held to celebrate National Townswomen’s Day.

There will be a homemade cake stall and a donation will be made to the Avarian Cancer Screening Fund, which especially helps women in the Dorset area.

Everyone is most welcome.

A PRIZE bingo event will be held at the Lugger Inn on Friday, May 14.

This has been organised by John and Cricket Parker and starts at 7pm for eyes down at 7.30pm.

Go along and enjoy a good evening to help raise money for the upkeep of St Mary’s Church.

PAST pupils from Chickerell School (from 1940 – 1950) will be catching up with one another at their school reunion at the Lugger Inn on Saturday, May 15 at 7pm.

If you were a pupil of the school during that time then they would be pleased to see you.

CHICKERELL Town Council will be allocating grants to local voluntary and charitable groups at its June meeting.

Any organisation wishing to be considered for a grant should apply for an application form to the Town Clerk or they can download the form from the Council’s website www.chickerell-tc.gov.uk.

The application form should be returned together with a copy of the organisations latest annual report and accounts no later than May 31, 2010.
