• THE Lunch Club has started the Christmas party season with a bang. A wonderful gammon and winter vegetable main course, followed by 3 delectable desserts, washed down with a glass of wine - the hall looked the part with red tablecloths and lots of candles - many thanks to all the planners and workers, a great time was had by all!
  • VERY proud Granny reports that Chris and Viv Barrett are busy looking after Margot Anneliese, who was born in Hong Kong, weighing 6lbs 8oz. Now she will have to organise a trip to visit!
  • I TOLD you about the fun & games at our local for National Pub Week, and can now report that £150 was raised – that is £75 for the Air Ambulance and £75 split between the Church & Village Hall – well done all who took part!
  • OUR Coffee Bazaar was a brilliant success – this really is an amazing village! I was very pessimistic as several families said they couldn’t be there, but was told off by a friend, who said it was about the fellowship and the money would follow. Sure enough, before long the hall was buzzing with locals and friends from other villages, and the Fabric Fund has had a very nice top up.
  • WE used the event to collect the bags of fabric for the Rag-Bag effort – WOW ! 13 very large bags were packed up and sealed over the weekend and the young man that was sent to ‘pick up a few bags’ said he might not have come if he’d known what it involved! I will let you know how much we receive. Thank you so much to all who helped.
  • I GATHER that the ‘Allo ‘Allo & Beaujolais Nouveau evening was a happy time and money was collected for Children in Need. I’m afraid I was still baking for the Bazaar, so my ‘Big Madonna with the Fallen Boobies’ will have to await another event!
  • THE bench in the Graveyard was in a rotten state (literally) so we have a new one (securely fastened down!) & we are hoping that it will be sponsored in someone’s memory.
