• CHRISTCHURCH’S earthquake tragedy took on a personal note for many in the Chesil Bank area, as several members of the community are visiting those beautiful Islands – so our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by it, especially our residents.
  • TUESDAY, March 1st at 7.30 pm is the start of the new programme for the Village Club and what an interesting evening that promises to be – Mrs Sue Hennessy was the Principle of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute College at Poole and since retiring has been doing a lot of research & written a book on the RNLI.

She is coming to talk about ‘Hidden History – Women of the RNLI’ it sounds like a new and fascinating slant on a wonderful group who have been practicing ‘the Big Society’ for years! Do join us, visitors £2.00

  • TUESDAYS can be a busy day in Langton, this week it was a short Morning Service in the Church followed by Lunch Club – good food and good company, as usual - the organizers deserve a medal! – the next one is on March 29th.

In the evening there was Garden Club, we were given a fascinating talk on ‘Living Willow’ – this is building structures from green, pliable willow canes: arbours, domes, tee-pees, natural screens and even chairs! –and of course you can make traditional baskets and sculptures.

Pauline has a farmhouse B&B outside of Bridport and runs day workshops on Living Willow, willow sculpting, hurdle making and many other things, sounds like a good day out.

  • FORWARD planning for your diaries: Saturday, March 19th, in the Village Hall, ‘A Brunch & Coffee Morning’ with hot bacon butties, cake, bric-a-brac, plant & book stalls – do come and raise funds for YOUR hall.

Then, of course, on Friday, April 29th we shall have Royal Wedding Celebrations but more details of what and when later, and don’t forget the Fete on Saturday, July 30th.

  • THE ART classes in the Hall are popular, the Tutor has started at a basic level for those who are new to drawing & painting, but is also able to encompass the more experienced person – talk to Michael on 871969 for details.
