CHRISTMAS got off to a flying start with our Candlelit Carols followed by delicious Wassail in the Hall – not yet all sung out, the Salvation Army came to The Elm Tree and led us through the old favourites around a lit brazier – afterwards it was hot punch and mince pies – then on Christmas Eve - the Church was full for a beautiful Midnight service, lit again by candles - thank you all who joined in, the whole season was very special!

Having digested our turkey and got our breath back it was New Years Eve – I think the majority of the village adjourned to the Elm Tree for a buffet supper and all noisily welcomed in 2012.

LAST NIGHT at Village Club we were entertained by Anne Gray and her colleague with The Twelve Days of Christmas – this was stories, readings & songs accompanied by a range of reproduction instruments from Medieval to Tudor times (with a bit of audience participation –carol singing – thrown in). A good evening altogether!
