The Waterside Singers are putting out a tuneful call for more like-minded people who would be keen  to take part in some community singing. They stress that you don’t have to be able to read music, or even play an instrument; you don’t have to be an experienced singer, infact many of the original singers joined up when the project was originally called “Cant Sing? – Neither Can We!”  But if you do enjoy singing even if it is only in your bathtub, then they would love to have you come and join them. You will be pleased to hear that you don’t even have to audition, or you need to do is Turn Up on a Monday from 2.00 until 3.30 (that’s 14:00 - 15:30 in modern currency).

The singing sessions are led by Anna who has a lot of experience in getting the best sounds out of a quiet and timid voice, she doesn’t bark orders at you, or tell you off but she does encourage each and every one to sing out!

When I had some spare time on my hands a few years back, I myself joined this group. I found myself making some lovely friends, many of which I invited along to my wedding in 2012!

So if your sitting at home, you’ve looked out of the window in the morning and don’t know what to do for the rest of the day, have a look in your purse, see if there’s a spare £2.00 sitting there, and bring yourself down to the Park Community Centre, Chelmsford Street, Weymouth, remember its every Monday (give or take a few for weddings, holidays and bar mitzvahs) between 2pm and 3.30pm. They would love to see you there, and you might just make some lovely new friends as well.

Alternatively give the centre a call on 01305 839579 and ask them for more details.
