No doubt you will all have seen the flyers about the proposed development on the north side of Littlemoor Road.

The site, from the ‘mushroom’ roundabout to Goulds Garden centre and back to Marsh Dairy has been earmarked for housing and industrial units.

Can Littlemoor cope with another 700 odd houses? Will they be affordable? Will any be set aside for social housing? What about local schools, surgeries, will they be able to take on the extra people? Are our roads adequate enough for all the extra traffic? Will the industrial units guarantee work for local people? How are they allowed to build in a designated Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty and what will happen to all the wildlife?

These are some of the questions that need to be addressed. If you have any others then please make them known at the Top Club on Thursday 3rd September from midday until 7.30pm.

If you can’t make it then you will be able to view the proposals at the library at various times. Or you can email your questions direct to littlemoorconsultation@rpsgroup.com but you only have until the 18th September to get your responses in.

Time is running out for younger readers to complete this summer’s Record Breakers reading challenge.

Tasks include trying to set your own personal record and then breaking it, how many dominoes can you stack in 30 seconds, how many socks can you put on in 60 seconds, can you complete the jigsaw or guess how many elastic bands are in the jar?

And of course there’s the reading challenge itself with stickers to collect and a treasure hunt. All at the library now!
