Odyssey Majorettes are holding 2 events to raise funds for their troupe.

The first is a Jumble Sale on Saturday 24th October at Littlemoor Community Centre from 1pm ‘til 5pm. There will also be a Sweets Tombola and refreshments will be available.

For those who fancy becoming a majorette there will be a free beginner’s workshop. Some of the members will be on hand to teach baton and flag twirling.

Some of the girls will be performing their winning competition routines (weather permitting) The second event is a Quiz Night on Saturday 14th November at Littlemoor Community Centre – doors open at 7pm. Teams of up to 6. Tickets £2.50 for adults and £1 for children in advance (It will be adults £3.00 and children £1.50 on the door). Advance tickets can be bought from Odyssey Training Class at Wey Valley on Saturday Mornings 9am ‘til 11.30am.

With All Hallows Eve fast approaching there’s some spooky fun in store for the kids.

The first one is a Fangtastic Fun Day at the Top Club in Louviers Road on Wednesday 28th October between 11am and 1pm. Plenty of activities to do, fancy dress, crafts, cake decorating, face painting, music and dancing plus spooky fun and games.

Free entry and free lunch but under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult.

For children between 7 and 11 there’s a Halloween Party at the Community Hall on Saturday 31st October from 4pm until 6pm. Entry is £1 which includes refreshments, food, music and of course lots of frighteningly good fun and games.

A new Saturday Drop In for kids between 7 and 11 starts on 7th November . Running from 9.30 until 11.15 entry cost is £1 which includes a light breakfast and refreshments and a weekly Tuck Shop where children are allowed to spend no more than 50p. Plenty of games and crafts with different activities each week.

For the adults, Bingo sessions are returning to the community hall on every second Thursday of the month starting 12th November. Doors open 7.30pm and Eyes Down at 8pm. The cost will be £5 per session (6 games in total) with an optional Cash Flyer for £1. Refreshments will be on sale and a raffle held each week.

Finally a reminder that the Littlemoor Memory Cafe re-opens its doors this Friday (23rd) for those living with dementia and their carers. The memory cafe is held at the library every alternate Friday. You don’t have to be a Littlemoor resident, anyone living with memory loss or dementia is welcome to come along with their carers to enjoy a relaxed social atmosphere with refreshments. Plenty of activities, quizzes, games crafts etc., to enjoy.
