Abbotsbury and Langton Herring
Abbotsbury
LAST week I was able to tell you about the push to get the Abbotsbury Community Space finished
Now I am able to up date readers on the playground area on the site.
At the end of a walk along Hannah’s Lane to the recreation field I had a big surprise.
The playground area has now been professionally fenced.
An email from Lucy Bailey one of the organisers has given me more information.
Using funding from ‘Awards for All’, the playground group has been able to fence off the area, using the services of Wareham Fencing.
The area will be cut regularly and now the group would like to encourage people to use the site as a kick about until the play equipment is eventually installed.
They would also like to point out that this fenced off space is not for dog walking.
Fund raising is going ahead apace with one application currently being looked at although a decision may be some time in coming due to the volume of applications.
Meanwhile the group are also fundraising to provide a shelter to protect users from the elements if playing on this section of the field.
Lucy tells me that they are expecting the imminent arrival of the entrance stone, donated by Portland Stone, which will be carved by Abbotsbury stonemason Bec Friesleben.
