MY FAMILY, Sheelagh, Kate & Amelia, are again running the RACE FOR LIFE at Kingston Maurward on Saturday, 20th May, in aid of Cancer Research UK & if anyone would like to sponsor them, please get in touch with me or go on line to http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/beechcroft-babes . This is such an important charity, so many families are affected by cancer, let’s raise as much as we can!

ANYONE who did not get to Village Club missed a real treat – Chris Shaw is an excellent story teller, and having spoken note-less for over half an hour, filling us in on her Polar Bear spotting trip around Spitsbergen, she then showed us the photographic evidence of a VERY successful voyage, with further running commentary.

Thanks for a really brilliant evening, Chris.

DON’T forget that Wednesday, 9th May there is the RNLI fund raiser at Di Ludlow’s Friar Waddon garden, loads of wonderful plants for sale, raffle, cakes, light lunches and lots more.

If you’ve never been this year is the time to do so – and to finish off, a walk around her lovely garden!

I FORGOT to say what a super St George’s Evening we had in the village! – some stirring English songs by Barry, beautifully accompanied by Ollie – followed by fish & chip supper (freshly cooked in the van parked outside the hall!) – I NEARLY didn’t have enough room for my pudding, but just managed to squeeze it in! Many thanks to all those who made it such a success.
