Ghoulies and Ghosties and Long Legged Beasties and things that go bump in the night were to be found in abundance at the Halloween Disco at the Littlemoor Community Centre. Run by the L.C.A.G. and funded by 3 Zone Neighbourhood Panel with Synergy, the hall was nearly full to capacity as local youngsters arrived to enjoy their special event.
The evening was split into two parts with a children’s disco to start followed by a family event with several adults joining in with the spirit of the occasion by dressing up as well.
Spot prizes were given out during the evening to all the children who joined in dancing. It was a very difficult task for the organisers to choose from the many fantastic outfits on show but eventually winners were found. The verdict of the evening from the organisers and those who attended was that it had been a HOWLING success.

  • Some people are wondering what’s happening with the £1m Lottery money. There hasn’t been much news about this over the past few months but be assured that behind the scenes the Big4 committee have been working hard. As you can imagine it isn’t as simple as accepting a cheque and spending the money. There has been a great deal of work going on, studying results of surveys, trying to find where the money would be best spent so that everyone benefits.
The committee are still discussing recommendations and ideas and would like you to meet them to find out what’s been going on, ask any questions about concerns you have, air your views on the very best possible use of the money.
As I mentioned in a previous column, the meeting will take place on Friday 30th November. I can now tell you that it will be between 6pm and 8pm at Bincombe School.
Do try and get along to meet the members of the committee and have a chat with them, ask them questions etc. Without your input they can’t get a representative picture of what everyone would like to see done to improve our neighbourhood.
Refreshments will be available at the meeting.

However, from December  1st. you can also meet the Safer Neighbourhood Team at the entrance to the Co-Op and  then on the first Saturday of every month between 11am and 12. If you have any questions or in need of advice the team will be happy to help.
