There are many of us who rely on the buses to get into town, to go shopping, to get to work.
Without public transport a lot of us here in Littlemoor would feel isolated, so it’s important to have a say in the future planning of bus routes and services.
Dorset County Council have just issued consultation questionnaires to find out about your travel priorities. Your answers will provide evidence to support decisions on the future network of bus services.
These questionnaires are now available at the library.
If public transport is important to you, please get down there and take the time to fill in the questionnaire.

It was good to see so many people at the public meeting last Wednesday. It had been called to replace this month’s scheduled PACT meeting so that various agencies could reassure the residents of the measures taken to tackle the recent spate of anti-social behaviour.
The main speaker was Inspector Les Fry who talked at length of the work he and his team of officers are doing to ensure  that Littlemoor is a safer place.  He spoke of his efforts to get the street lights put back on and of the CCTV cameras installed at key points on the estate. He also reassured us that measures were being taken to remove the offenders from the estate altogether.
Inspector Fry said that the key to success was communication between residents and the police and urged us to take up the recently proposed Home and Neighbourhood Watch scheme and  to register for community messaging which will keep people up to date with everything going on in the Littlemoor area.
A Fire Services officer then warned about tackling fires. The best thing, he said, was to leave the fire alone and call the Fire Services.
The recent unfortunate injury to one young woman who was trying to put out a fire near the community centre was a point in question.
He then advised to keep wheelie bins away from property walls where possible and to ensure smoke alarms were fitted and in working order.
He then reminded everyone that a  fire safety inspection was free to every householder which included the fitting of smoke alarms if needed.
Other agencies were invited to speak including those from youth offenders, community safety, Synergy Housing and Top Club.
In all, people went away from the meeting feeling that something positive was being done to keep Littlemoor safe.
A follow up meeting was proposed for six months’ time and agreed. The date of this will be announced in the near future.
The next PACT meeting will be at 7.30pm on 10th April at Bincombe Court.
