At 9.30am on Monday 21st September the ’Off The Cuff’ writing group will be talking rather than writing.
They have managed to get World famous author, Isolde Martyn to go along and have a chat with them about the art of writing and getting published.
Apart from winning prestigious awards in both America and Australia for her novels, Isolde also has a university degree in history from Exeter university and has been a senior book editor at a major publishing house so she knows what writing is all about and how difficult it can be for aspiring writers to get into print.
‘She now lives in Australia so we are especially lucky to have her come and talk to us' Muriel Jesse told me.
‘The ’Off The Cuff’ writing group don’t want to be selfish so we’re throwing an open invitation out to any other writing groups in Weymouth who might like to come along.’ ‘But please call me first to let me know because space is limited at Littlemoor library so we may not be able to accommodate everybody.’ You can contact Muriel on 813863.
The meeting will be preceded by the showing of the film ‘Chicago’ (cert 12) at 2pm.
Admission to see the film is free to all Littlemoor residents.
After the film, between 4 pm and 4.30pm tea/coffee and cakes will be available for 50p per person.
The short AGM will follow and it’s hoped that everyone will stay on for that, as this year, more than any other, the LCAG needs your support.
