Most of you will have noticed that the toilets by the shops have been closed for some time, and this, if you’ll forgive the pun, is proving to be an inconvenience to many.

Apart from shoppers the facilities are used by taxi drivers, delivery drivers and tourists.

Those ‘caught short’ are now using the bushes up on the Louviers Road fields. This is not acceptable, the toilets need to be re-instated.

Terry Butcher has started a petition to have them re-opened and is in talks with councillor Mark Tewkesbury.

If you, like many others, think that the toilets should be opened again, then please sign the petition as soon as possible.

Petition forms can be found in the doctors surgery, the Co-Op, Littlemoor Hardware, the hairdressers, Sue Ryder, Rowlands chemists, the dentist, Top Club, the church café, the community centre and there are some at Fleetline Taxis too.

At least 1,000 signatures are required and so far 600 have been collected. If you haven’t already done so, please add yours..

A new social group, The Golden Gang, is just starting up at Bincombe Court, Hamilton Rise aimed at the senior residents of the estate.

Within this group they are hoping to start various activities including social evenings and outings.

Everyone is welcome to join, there is a very reasonable membership fee of £3 a year.

If you are interested in meeting new people and joining these activities then please give Julia a call on 07792318745 for more details.

On 24th September Bincombe Court is holding a Disco between 6pm and 9pm.

Simon’s Disco will be in residence to get you all dancing and there will be a harvest raffle held too.

Golden Gang members get in free of charge otherwise there is a modest £2 entrance fee payable at the door.

Concerns are being expressed about the speed of traffic on the estate and in particular along Louviers Road.

Drivers are reminded that children crossing to and from the play area do not always pay attention and run out into the road.

Bushes at one point on the road make it difficult to see any small child waiting to cross. Speeds in excess of 30mph will mean that cars won’t be able to stop in time to avoid a nasty accident.

So, please, before a tragedy occurs, drive sensibly in this area and watch your speed.
