As we all know the street lights are switched off in the early hours but does this money saving scheme give you cause for concern?

Do you think twice about going out at night now, in case the lights go out before you get home?

Do you think that the loss of street lighting will give rise to more vandalism?

If you have any concerns or questions you would like to raise on this topic then please go along to make your opinion known to the community hall off of Canberra Road at 7.30 on Thursday 10th May.

If you fancy a taste of the outdoor life, if only for an hour or two then this might suit you.

On Tuesday May 15th up by the skate park in Louviers Road and just near the entrance to Teddy Bear woods there will be a wild bake off round a roaring camp fire.

The event is being organised by Wild About Weymouth and Portland and the Big4 Littlemoor steering group.

Hopefully the weather will be fine but if the grass is damp it would be best to take something to sit on.

Bring your own food and drink if you like, there will be hot soup.

But more importantly come along and have a chat with your neighbours, get to know one another better and help build a community spirit.

Apart from the Olympics, which I’m sure everyone is sick of hearing about, this year sees the Queen’s jubilee.

To celebrate this plans are being made for a kids jubilee party at the community hall on Monday 4th June. Keep a look out for further details going up on posters and in this column.
