Milborne St Andrew

THE new production for the Milborne Players will be Caught in The Net by Ray Cooney.

It will be on July 3, 4 and 5 at the village hall in Milborne.

This hilarious sequel to the Cooney classic Run for Your Wife finds the taxi driver, John Smith, living happily with both his wives and families in Streatham and Wimbledon.

Life is good until his 16-year-old son in Streatham and 15-year-old daughter in Wimbledon meet up online and are amazed by the similarities in their father’s details… So when they decide to meet up in person, John’s problems really begin as he tries to keep them apart… From the stroppy teenagers (played by Sally Potter and Gren Elphinstone-Davis) and their mothers (played by Maureen Lock and Jo South) to the bigamous John (played by Roy Sach) and Stanley with his slightly barmy OAP father (played by Brian Parkinson and Bill Preston) the cast are having immense fun rehearsing this quickfire comedy which features all the hallmarks of a great, modern farce.

Directed by Caroline Nobbs and Andy Coetzee, this show will be one that will have you rolling in the aisles as the hapless John lurches from crisis to crisis, with a final twist that you certainly won’t be expecting!
