FREE DANCE MAT SESSIONS!

WE have not been able to find a chairman for Pact and until this situation is sorted out it has been decided that the Waterside Weymouth Community Forum will be holding a community meeting on Wednesday, July 21 at 7.30pm.

Pact will be an agenda item, where the residents will be updated on the last meetings priorities and any more details of future meetings.

Please come along and support your committee after all it is YOUR COMMUNITY.

THE committee would like to find some more volunteers to run the Park Centre on a Wednesday and Thursday morning,10am-12pm.

Can you help?

Call Ken on 07971 716254.

‘THE Waterside Singers’ from ‘Can’t Sing…neither can we’ would like to take part in this years Carnival, but we need transport for approximately 25 people.

A horse and large carriage would be good!

So if anyone could help please telephone 839579.

THE next Luncheon club will be Wednesday, July 7 at The Clipper (formerly The Barracuda) St Thomas Street.

No need to choose your menu just call 839579 and leave a message to book your place.

THE Forum has an old Duplo printing machine, which needs some attention.

Is there anybody out there who could try to get it working again?

A BIG thank you to Weyline Taxis for the cigarette collection boxes they have supplied.

This replaces the old boxes, which had become litter bins, including somebody who used to put their dog mess in them. I suppose we should be grateful they did put it in a bag first.

The situation regarding dog mess is getting better, but there is still room for improvement.

Talking of rubbish, please do not put your rubbish bags out during the day on Thursday as it gives the seagulls far too long to pick the bags to pieces and leave the rubbish all over the street. Try to put the rubbish out after dark on Thursday evening or first thing Friday morning, let’s try that and see if things improve.

Please help to keep the streets clean, our street cleaner Andy does a brilliant job so let’s make his life a bit easier.

THE Forum are very pleased after waiting two years to obtain the funding to announce that the Dance Mats sessions will be starting on Friday, July 16, and every Friday with a short break in the summer.

All the sessions will be FREE that’s right FREE and open to anybody. There is no need to book, but we do expect the sessions to be busy, so there might be a wait and we might have to put in a booking system at a later stage.

We have an Instructor and drinks etc will be available for a small cost.

If anyone would like to help serve them, or help run the Dance Mat sessions please contact 839579.

The final times of the sessions are being worked out and we send them out in our Newsletter at the beginning of July and the newspapers will have full coverage.

The Forum would like some feedback on the notice boards and newsletters.

Do Residents read the newsletter? Do you look at the notice boards? Do residents have any comments?

There will be a chance in the next edition to tell us or you can telephone 839570 and leave a message.
